NanoFrontier Inc. (Head Office: Sendai, Miyagi, Japan; CEO: Seiya Inoue) is pleased to announce its selection for the “STEP for SEED” track of the Sendai-Tohoku Expansion Program (STEP), an overseas expansion initiative promoted by the City of Sendai. With expert mentorship and access to local networks, we will intensively validate and scale our business hypotheses in Southeast Asian markets, beginning with Singapore.

NanoFrontierは、東北大学発の独自改良「再沈殿法」による有機材料の高分散ナノ粒子化を中核技術とし、AIデータセンター向け冷却液性能の高度化、水中微量汚染物質のリアルタイム検出、次世代蓄電池材料など、産業の複数領域で応用展開しています。東南アジアではデータセンター需要の拡大や環境・エネルギー分野の社会課題解決ニーズが高まっており、当社技術の国際的な実装機会が広がっています。本事業によるシンガポール派遣を最大限活用し、製品・ソリューションの現地適応（ローカライズ）とパートナー連携を加速し、商用化に直結する検証機会の創出を図ります。

NanoFrontier’s core technology is the high-dispersion nanoparticle formation of organic materials based on an original, improved “reprecipitation method” originating at Tohoku University. We are developing applications across multiple industries, including performance enhancement of cooling liquids for AI data centers, real-time detection of trace pollutants in water, and next-generation battery materials. As Southeast Asia experiences surging demand for data centers and growing needs to address environmental and energy challenges, opportunities are expanding for global deployment of our technologies. By fully leveraging this program’s dispatch to Singapore, we aim to accelerate product/solution localization and partnerships, creating validation opportunities that directly lead to commercialization.

本プログラムの支援を活用し、以下のテーマを中心に事業化ステップを前進させます。渡航前の市場・商習慣インサイト整理から、シンガポール／東南アジアの現地での面談・視察・英語ピッチの磨き上げまでを一気通貫で行い、MOU締結や共同研究・実証につながる成果の創出を目指します。
- AIデータセンター向け冷却液の高度化：ナノ粒子分散による熱伝達特性の向上と信頼性評価の現地実施
- 環境センシング：水環境の微量汚染物質検出ソリューションの適合性検証とユースケース開拓
- エネルギー材料：有機ナノ粒子材料の応用可能性に関する共同検討・プロトタイピング

Leveraging program support, we will advance our commercialization steps around the following themes. From pre-departure studies on market insights and business practices to on-site meetings, site visits, and refinement of English pitches in Singapore and Southeast Asia, we will execute an end-to-end process aimed at tangible outcomes such as memorandum of understanding (MOU) signings, joint research, and pilot demonstrations.
- AI Data Center Cooling Liquids: Improve heat-transfer characteristics through nanoparticle dispersion and conduct on-site reliability assessments.
- Environmental Sensing: Validate the fit of water-quality trace pollutant detection solutions and develop concrete use cases.
- Energy Materials: Jointly explore and prototype applications of organic nanoparticle materials.
